I am doing this on my phone...too tired to get the laptop out. I got admitted and had a room yesterday. I did not get a PICC til late today. That was extremely tough! Took over an hour in IR and three tries. I am extremely sore right now, can hardly move the arm without pain. I am hoping this gets better and is simply an effect of the trauma/bruising.
So anywho...maybe a more detailed blog tomorrow, just wanted to let you know how I'm doing. Its been a rough go but I have been able to catch up on sleep, during the day today. Night all!
UPDATE: I am still in lockdown. My IV nurse (while she was doing the dressing change) was concerned about swelling, pain and a weird popping sensation during flushing. She pushed for me to get some tests and it turns out there was a small clot around the PICC, just above where it was inserted into my arm. They had to take it out and put a peripheral in until I can get a new PICC. With any luck that will happen tomorrow (monday). Thankfully she pushed for it, or they would have sent me home. I was literally all packed up and ready to go...more details on my blog. Otherwise, I feel much better, my cough is decreasing and my energy is ok, considering I am in a noisy hospital.
