Update on my Brian

Brian heard from the doctor today. They are now saying there is an 80% chance of this thing being cancer. I felt sick when he told me and I just wanted to come home, but we were short handed at work and I had come in 2 hours early to help cover. The doc is consulting with another doctor at Madigan Army Medical center about how to go about taking this thing out. It could be as long as 3 weeks before they are able to get him in for surgery. I just want this thing out of him! He's hurting more and more all the time and if its cancer it needs to go NOW! I hope he can push his commanding officer to get a referal to a civilian hospital if they want to wait that long.

Right now I'm still feeling optomistic, 20% is better than nothing. BUt I'm also really angry. I finally found the guy of my dreams and now this. We all know that you need to hope for the best and prepare for the worst. But I don't know what I'll do if I lose him. Please keep him in your prayers if that's your thing, or send us good vibes if it's not. I'm really scared about all this.

If it turns out to be cancer, and he has to go through all that goes with that, seriously look into Wheat Grass Juice as a supplement. It has shown very strong anti-cancer properties. I wish him the best and hope it just turns out to be something other than cancer.

froggy, I am so sorry to hear this. If you go to tricare online, there is somewhere on there that states how long certain beneficiaries (he is tricare Prime because he is active duty) have to wait for an appointment for certain things (i.e. routine, urgent, maybe even surgery). If the military facility cannot accomodate a beneficiary in that amount of time, they have to release him to civilian care and foot the bill-PERIOD.

Look into it, and I'll say some prayers for the two of you!!!

Ugh what a pain in the butt. Why can't sucky people get cancer and CF instead? It has to be the good ones, blah. I hope it's not cancer, but even if it is, he's got a decent chance. I don't know the stats, but I know people beat cancer all the time. I'm sure you know this too, I'm just thinking outloud. Heh. Sorry. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
