Update on my honey

Brian went to see the urologist/surgeon today about the mass on his kidney. Based on the CT scan from last week the doc said it looks like a type 3 complex cystic mass which in english means there is a 50/50 chance that its cancerous. The doc wanted a more specific CT focusing on the kidney since with the other one they were looking at his chest. THis will give the doc a better idea of the size, shape and composition of this thing. It will also help him determine the best approach as far as surgery goes. They may be able to remove the mass only, or he might lose the whole kidney. We'll know more next weeks when the doc has a chane to look at the new CT.

Of course we are scared about this but Brian is already driving me up the wall. I have dealt with this kind of thing my entire life so I'm not worrying any more than I need to right now. I'm optomistic. He's talking about making a will already. He also has a lot of the information from the doctor confused. The doc said 50/50, Brian keeps telling people the doc said its more than likely cancer. He also keeps talking about further tests they might do, the doc said nothing about more tests, just surgery. I'm trying to be patient but he is freaking out his friends and family more than he needs to at this point.

Well, I'll update everyone again when I know more. Please send us some good thoughts. There is a lot at stake here, and we need the positive vibes.

Sorry he has to go through this, but if push comes to shove and they do have to do some serious crap, it's a good thing it's just the kidney, and he has two of those.

I wish you all the best, you are both in my prayers.
Aslo tell him not too worry too much as, these day's the doc's can cure most cases of cancer (if that's what it is).
Don't stress and take every day as it comes, there are worse things out there.

Best wishes
Eli

You are in my prayers. I wish I could give you words that would make it easier for both of you. Not knowing really causes havic on your emotional well being. You think the worse & dont know if you need to. All you can do is take one day at a time. As far as the will thing.....thats NEVER a bad idea whether you are facing a health issue or not so dont see that as "the end". Unfortunately many people dont think about it until faced with the possibility of actually needing it!

I'm sure you are frustrated, but one thing I notice... you said he wanted to do a will. I think anyone in a relationship needs to do a living trust regardless if they are in good health or not. Anything can happen, as we all have read stories of such tragedies happening out of no where. Regardless if he will be ok, it is a smart move to do a living trust anyways. Especially if it makes him feel better, I say do it. Just my advice though.

I wasn't saying that a will is a bad idea, of course everyone should have one. It was just an example of his state of mind right now. He's practically convinced himself that he's going to die. I've thought about the possibility too, but he's dwelling on it and nothing else. He absolutely refuses to hope that its not cancer and that's what's making me crazy.
