Melissa came through the surgery just fine. It took a total of about 30 minutes. Looks like she has been fighting this infection for several years as the bone growth in her nose has been damaged, due to the infection. We had some minor issues getting her off the anesthesia as her 02 stats wanted to drop to 82%. So she had to stay alittle longer in recovery.
She is home now with alittle discomfort but not too bad and she is relaxing. She will not be able to do anything for a week. No bending No sneezing no blowing nose and no picking anything up.
I will keep you all posted as Melissa recovers.
God Bless
Randy

Melissa,

The first couple days are the roughest. It only gets better from here. I hope you have a speedy recovery!

I'm not sure you have packing, or gel packing. I didn't have any packing so I found it helpful to have a gauze sling under my nose, to catch all the blood when I was sleeping. The nurses made them for me by cutting those firm blue face masks with elastic behind the ears. They cut a skinny strip, so I could rig the "mask" just under my nose with gauze padding. I also slept while propped up the first couple nights. Oh, and my poops turned black from swallowing so much blood. That was a surprise, but went away later in the week.

Good luck!
