First I want to apologize for not having any pictures yet. Unfortunately we are using my mothers computer and she doesn't have a picture program that we can use to resize the photo files. I keep trying ti upload some photos to the site but they are too large. We will have to wait until we get home to our house (Mark is driving back and fourth-1hr each way to take care of our dogs, but not enough time/energy to do all the pictures yet)

I hope to be able to have them uploaded in a few days.

Tristan is doing well. He came off oxygen yesterday and is doing wonderfully, I imagine he'll come home first. We got to hold him yesterday, Kangaroo care (skin to skin) and it was great.

Cassie's oxygen got turned down very very low and they imagine tomorrow she will be off oxygen. She and Tristan both started gavage feedings today and I got to try and breastfeed Tristan today. It's hard work for a preemie, but he did well. It was Great! I'll get to try with Cassie tomorrow.

Ryland is struggling a bit, not much but a bit. His oxygen is still on at the same level from when it was at birth. He got kangarooed by Mark today though and his sats were at 100% the whole time. HE LOVES his daddy!

THanks to everyone for all the well wishes and prayers and support, we really appreciate it.

I will get the pictures done as soon as I can!!!!!!!!

Sorry Auntie Jennifer, I want to put some on the website but I can't download the program for the website to my mom's computer (she just doesn't want me to) and I can't use our laptop at her house because there is no wireless internet connection. I'll do it as soon as I can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Risa, I'm exhausted, absolutely exhausted. I had no idea that "recovery" would feel like this. The worst part is (this is gross) the extra skin and still pouchy belly. I knew I would still have the pregnant look for a while, almost every woman does. But I thought the skin would be more taunt, kind of like in the beginning of the pregnancy when I was just starting to get a pouch. Instead, it's kind of hanging there (sorry, I know TMI) and the pull of gravity actually makes it painful and uncomfortable. I have an abdominal binder to hold it in and close and that helps, but I don't wear it all the time because it's not good to do that. I thought it would be easier than this, I really really did but It's going to be a long road. I think my work is crazy to imagine I'll be back in 6 weeks. They are working out the logistics of it, but for now I'm expected back in 6 weeks. Between pumping every 2-3 hours, seeing the babies and trying to eat/drink well, I'm so tired. My doctor said recovering from a triplet pregnancy, and a C section on top of it is a lot of hard work. She said I won't feel better for about 2 weeks, and I won't feel like myself for about 4-5 months at the least, and my body will be about 9-12 months of work and changes! YIKES

I will get the pictures loaded as soon as I can, it's just not possible to do right now at my mom's house. I'm so sorry, I know you guys want to see pictures.

In a year or sooner, I bet you will be just the way you were before you became pregnant. Remember, you are young and the body will bounce back. Muscle has memory (just keep telling yourself). That phrase always helps me.

My doctor said to me recently, "We did not think you would bounce back so fast because you were so thin" I said, "Muscle has memory".

edited to add: we all will improve if we allow ourselves to take Baby Steps

Hi Julie. Glad to hear things are going good. Hopefully, Ryland will come off the oxygen soon too. I'm sure all you want to do is rest (lol). I can't imagine having to take care of 1 child, let alone 3. But you've been looking forward to this for awhile now, and I'm sure you are are very excited. How long will you have to stay in the hospital? Can't wait to see pics!!

Congrats Julie! I can't wait to see pics of the babies! Glad to hear that they're doing so well. Try to take care of yourself and try not to run yourself down. How is Marc doing with all this baby stuff?

hi Julie and Marc, glad to see the babes are doing well. I also, believe it or not, am looking forward to seeing pictures of the weans, ( weans are what we call babies in Scotland, pronounced wains.)

Get lots of rest now, because before you know it, they will be running around driving you insane.

I'm glad to ready that the babies are doing good. Hopefully Ryland will be off oxygen soon or at least at a lower setting. How long are they looking to be in the hospital? I know with them being premies and all it will be a little while. Anyway, I hope you start feeling better soon Julie. Try to get as much rest as possible (with 3 new babies I know that's gonna be very, very hard). How is Mark handling things? Please post pictures when you get time. Keep us updated.

It all sounds so wonderful, I'm sure Ryland will rally soon.
There's nothing like holding the baby the first time, and breastfeeding the first time too. Its truly amazing.

Your extra skin willl go back, take a belly picture NOW, you'll forget how much was there.

Hi Julie,

Congratulations on the babies, I saw the topic about them the other day but (ashamdably,(?)) did not get around to offering my best wishes to all of you! I hope things continue to go well, and that all three and Momma will be home and enjoying quality family life very soon. All the best! x

Allisa, I was discharged on Friday afternoon so now it's just a matter of resting and visiting the hospital everyday. I'm staying at my mom's house for the next few weeks because she lives about 6 minutes away from the hospital. So it's great for me because I don't have to do the 1hr drive to and from our house. But Poor Mark does and it's exhausting for him.

Liz, Mark is beyond excited, he is just so happy to be a dad and happy that the babies are doing well and that there were no major complications from the delivery or from the fact that they were born at 32.5 weeks.

Danyell, as far as how long they have to be hospitalized.... it depends. They started Tristan and Cassie on gavage feedings and both of them have been suckling at my breast since yesterday. Usually babies don't get the suck swallow breath coordination down until 34+ weeks so at least a few more weeks, even if Tristan is doing well in all other areas. He's doing great off the O2, and they will try a bottle feeding sometime next week. Cassie's just a few days behind him in her steps. They started ryland on feedings today but stopped them because he was having a lot of apnea and bradycardia (forgetting to breathe, drop in heart rate) and his body is still focusing 99% on breathing and they don't want to take away from that by making the stomach work too. They also have to be able to sit up in the carseat without having any apnea or bradycardia.

Goingup, yes I am VERY sore. But the doctor said with having 3 babies in there, I will be a little sore for quite a while. She said the worst of it will last about 2-3 weeks, and then it will just be slowly moving for me. No "womanly" issues though, my bleeding (TIM, I KNOW) has already stopped. It's just the extra skin hanging down that hurts.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and kind words and for being so so supportive to our family, I just absolutely love this website!!!!
