Hi everybody, i haven't updated on the "runt" since july i think. thought i would update my "44/43 sweat test results...." post I started.
I can say this much, THIS IS A DIFFERENT WORLD IN CF LAND.
Now that I have adjusted, and I think totally convinced the world Wade is a cf'er, it's officially time to panic. Viruses, colds, allergies, and whatever else he can possibly catch, and probably will, has started. and yes, he already has a sinus infection. started amoxicillin today. runny nose last thursday, fever nosebleed saturday, fever nosebleed sunday, sinus infection is the result of the matter according to pediatrician. and to top it off his iron has dropped to 10.3. so back on iron drops. we made it all summer. guess i can't complain. pediatrician says lungs sound good, no wheezing
.....but paranoid dr. mom here who just so happens to own a stethoscope hears slight wheezing on lower right lobe towards his back. okay maybe a psycho is a better word than paranoid...either way. i hear it. i have been "clapping" my heart away. as often as he lets me, i think he is afraid to hug me at this point.....sometimes he hits me back....lol. suppose he thinks we are fighting. but the good news.....
....since i have last reported wade's weight has been 24.2, 23.8, and after 3 weeks of scandi-cal and begging him to eat "something" we are back up to 24 pounds!!!
He still is not talking other than daddy, brothers, and alot of animal sounds. (when i say brothers....he calls them 'brothers'....sometimes devan gets his name...usually when in trouble.) so i have started signing with him today, and just today he started using" eat ,drink, blue, train, and does not sign mom but points to me when i ask him what it is when i sign" he has used "more" since he was one. and he will start speech therapy once a month this month....then increase as he gets older till there are no speech problems. He had an upper GI confirming moderate to severe relux. and is supposed to follow up vitamin levels and other labs next visit...which isn't until 10/29.....also the day 2 of my other boys are getting sweat tested. (which i think is completely stupid...think the insurance would realize....one sibling is positive.....probably would end up saving money skip the sweat test go straight to genetic...than do both tests) duh. ( the 3rd one will be done in November from what I understand...only one person to do it, and will only do two at a time.) Wade is sleeping and poor fella sounds like "slurping" with that nasty nose. I will be cleaning it again shortly. I hope I didn't forget anything. My oldest boy is doing great. Second son "allergies" have kicked in, and third son started as allergies, then virus causing lesion on tongue, now a sinus infection.personally i think my oldest is in good shape. but the next two I worry are in the same boat as the fourth. wish it was over and i had the results, but it's not even begun. pray for me......i will soooooo need it.
sorry i wrote a book, but as my DH says,,,,,,,,,"Nothing short and sweet for you huh...." oh well, gotta love him. and my boys are creative...like me...
