Hello to all!

I am 14 weeks today and feeling pretty good. I have not thrown up in over a week so that is WONDERFUL! I got sick once a day, every day until 20 with Alexa.

I had a CF checkup last week and my PFT's were down. Back in June my PFTS were the highest ever in the 7 years I have been going to this clinic. In June my PFT's were 86% which I think was 2.6 liters. This time they were 1.8 liters, not sure what the % was. I was so upset, I mean hormonal sobbing and crying. My poor CF Dr! I expected a drop because I have had this nagging cough. What was upsetting was that I was 2 weeks into Tobi. When I take Tobi I usually see an instant jump. So I have three weeks until I go back for another check. I am to continue Tobi, more airway clearance and I am taking oral Keflex. I hate taking antibiotics while pg but I know this is for the best. Thankfully I do not feel CF sick, I am not short of breath or extra tired. Did any of you take oral antibiotics while PG? If so, what did you take? Do you remember the dose? I know Keflex is "safe". It was approved by my CF doc, OB and a Peri it is just hard for me to get over the fact that I did not have to take any antibiotics until 30+ while I was pg with Alexa.

On top of that last night I started with a sore throat and stuffy nose. My husband has been fighting a cold and I thought for sure I had that beat. UGH.

I had an OB/GYN appointment last week as well. I am up 2 pounds. Growth is good. Baby's heartbeat is around 160 just like Alexa's was. I am craving the same types of food that I craved with Alexa. We scheduled our big ultrasound for 10/31!
We are still trying to decided if we will find out the sex. We found out with Alexa.

Alexa is doing great! Her second birthday was Sept. 6. I cannot believe my baby is 2 years old! She is a very active little girl. She loves to talk, strings together 4-5 words and they make sense! She is a pro at naming colors. If I ask her what is in my belly she will say "baby sis" but I am not sure if she really knows what all that means. Of course I wonder if she is right about the sister part!?!?!

yeah how exciting!!! the only antibiotics i've been on since pg is zithromax m-w-f. my pft's have gone down a ton, but my dr. hasn't put me on any meds. hopefully they will go back up after i deliver and get back on TOBI.

i'm at a miserable stage i wish i could be at 13 weeks again. i was never sick (the pregnancy sick) so i miss feeling good. now i just want it to be over and have my normal body back. i know it won't ever go back the exact same, but i might be a lucky one.

Hi Anne,

Sorry to hear that your PFT's are down. I'm sure you're feeling a little discouraged right now, especially since your pregnancy with Alexa went so smoothly. Hang in there...hopefully good 'ole Keflex will do the trick. The good thing is that you don't *feel* sick at all. Maybe you could be coming down with hubby's cold anyways. (I just caught the cold that's been going around my family as well). But hey, you look great at 13 weeks! Keep up the good work and keep your chin up.

Take care,
Leah 26 w/CF, mom to non-biological son, just went through first try with IUI and waiting to see if it worked!
