Hello everyone, I am new to this forum! I don't know where to start. Ok I have a 10yr old and a 4yr old both boys. They both recently got tested for CF, the 10 yr old his sweat test came back borderline so he had a second one that came back boderline also. the 4 yr old his test came back normal. I am still waiting for the gene test. They have both been sick alot lately with pnuemonia.the 10 yr old has had lots of ear infections sinus infections had his tonsils removed. when he was around 4 he would throw up a lot and he was very small for his age now he is normal for his age range. the 4 yr old has only had the pnuemonia he is small for his age he seems tired a lot.I feel like the doctors are kinda treating me as if i am just overreacting. sorry just needed to vent! thanks to all who will listen

Hello "logansmom"! I am a mom to a 9 month old with CF. First of all, in my opinion, there is no such thing as overreacting! My ds's doctor thought I was paranoid, as did my friends and family and husband, when I ordered my son's sweat test...which, obviously, was positive! With the doctor's, I've found out, you pretty much have to demand ANSWERS! Second, were these tests done at a CF Center? That is extremely important! Did both of your sons get the gene test? The problem with CF is that a lot of the symptoms can also be symptoms for many other things! Are they salty tasting? How are their appetites? Stools? If you'd like to talk, please feel free to email me...augustmoon0003@aol.com. <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

You can't overreact when it comes to your children. Get an appointment at a CF Center for your 10 year old to have another sweat test. They are the only ones who really know what they're doing. A team of doctors will determine his diagnosis. I am sorry you are going through this. We will be praying for a negative result.
