Some of you know that I was having a problem with my pedal control for my vest. Well I got tired of "fighting" with it & called the company. They were surprised I had no problems until now & are sending it overnight so I dont have to risk doing poor treatments longer then needed. I was so happy with them. I never had a problem from day one. Another note to......my paperwork from 1999 says American Biomedical Systems, but when I call the telephone number the company is called Hill Rom (sp). I remember someone talking about this company. I am assuming they bought out ABS or its a name change. I thought they were two actively seperate companies.

Melissa, we got Mark's vest earlier this year from Hillrom (www.thevest.com). I have never heard of ABS but can only assume they were bought out or merged??? Anyways, glad you got it fixed and Mark and I have NEVER had a problem with them either. They have been absolutely wonderful!
When we got my daughters vest we were elated because we thought our insurance had paid 100% of it. However, it turns out that our insurance did not pay 1 penny!!!! (Go Figure) We did find out though, that the vest company gave it to us for free!!!! I don't know how or why, but I am not going to ask any questions and count our blessings! So, We LOVE Hillrom too!

They are so great!! They gave me mine too, my insurance never paid for it. At first I had the huge one, then when the smaller one came out, they traded me. It finally gave out after many, many years of use and they sent me a new one - overnight of course! And my ins. has never paid for any of it!!!! Unbelievable to me! I keep thinking they're going to be knocking down my door for the thing, or send me a huge bill, but I'll keep waiting and hoping......
Hey, for those of you who have had transplants and used the vest.....do you ever have to use it after tx? I was going to give it back, since hopefully I won't need it anymore!

Your not crazy, HillRom is ABS. If I remember correctly, they changed names in early 2000.
