If you take insulin then I would call your doc and find out how to dose yourself to bring your sugar down.

If you do not take insulin I would call the doc and find out what you need to do.

If you take insulin though this problem is relatively easy to solve with a dose of insulin - per YOUR DOCTORS guidelines.

Also just so you know extreme hunger is a side effect of high blood sugar as well as low.

To prepare you if you are not on insulin or diagnosed diabetic - with that high of a fasting blood sugar you will most likely be diagnosed with diabetes if it is continuously occuring.

I would definitely call and talk to your doc.

As for things you can eat that will not make your sugar go up even more - meats such as chicken or steak and high protein foods. Peanuts eggs bacon and things like that should be good for you to eat without really raised your blood sugar. Try to stay away from anything sugary, high carb (fruit, fruit juices, cereals, pastas, potatoes and such) until you can get your sugar under control with the aid of your doc.

Also something to think of now - are you taking any new meds. Write down a list of ALL of your meds (old and new) there may be something within your meds that is causing the rise in sugars especially if you just started a new drug (like a steroid) even if it is only temporary.

Hope you talked to the doc and they were able to help you out.
