I don't see why not, but ask your doctor.

FYI, there was <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://thorax.bmjjournals.com/cgi/content/abstract/60/1/55">a study in the journal Thorax</a> that suggested Viagra might be effective in correcting the CF mutation. Of course, I'm hardly gonna start popping it just on the off-chance it helps, but it's curious nonetheless. Let us know if your lung function goes up, too. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

It's totally safe.

In fact, Viagra is used to treat pulmonary hypertension.

I would definitely check with your doctor to make sure with your specific problems, though.

My husband has used Viagra (non CFer) due to side affects of blood pressure meds. Its a very controlled medication & requires pre-authorization for our insurance to cover it. There are certain meds that should not be used when taking it, but outside of that it seems to be a safe drug. Except for the morons that I have known that felt if one tablet is good than two is better & the ended up in the emergency room because his erection wouldnt go away...duh!

Oh yeah, those dorks.

<blockquote>Quote<br><hr> Patty is visiting her father Ralph at the nursing home.

'I've been sleeping really well these past few weeks,' Ralph says.

'Why?' Patty asks. 'Have the nurses been giving you something to help you sleep?'

'Yes,' Ralph says. 'Every night I'm given an glass of warm milk and viagra.'

'Why are they giving you viagra?' she asks.

'I don't know,' Ralph says.

Patty finds a nurse down the hall and asks to know more about their sleeping aids.

'The warm milk helps him sleep,' the nurse says.

'But why the viagra?' Patty asks.

'Oh,' the nurse says. 'That just keeps him from rolling out of bed.'<hr></blockquote>
