Visiting new baby cousin in the hospital?

Okay, my son is 10 month old, and has CF. We made it all winter with nooo colds or anything. My sister just had a baby on Monday...and would like me to visit tomorrow at the hosptial...I have tried to find a babysitter...and have had NOOOO luck..Would you bring your baby with CF to visit at the hospital or skip it until they are at home? Thanks for your help..

hi sarah,
i think this is one of those ones where you just go with your 'gut'. we had a situation where our daughter(w/o cf) was in hospital for a week(same hospital that blake(CF) goes) and there came a time where i had to take him. i just made sure that he was washing his hands, not playing with any of the toys and generally being careful. hope that helps.

When Jazmine was born I took her in at 8 days old to visit the girls I worked with at our local hospital.

Granted she doesnt have CF, but at the time I didnt see a problem with it.

NOW I wonder WTF was I thinking.....she didnt get sick or anything, but still. EIGHT days old? UGGG

Since your baby wont remember the visit, why not wait until they come home? Better safe then sorry, right?!

Congrats on being an Auntie!

I don't think I'd bring ANY of my babies to the hospital to visit anyone. Kids under 12 that aren't part of the sibling set for a newborn, aren't supposed to be there anyway, at least not at our hospital.
