Just wondering if vomiting is common in CF. My 10 year old vomits regularly 1-2x's per week.(Not including when he vomits his mucus up in the am) He starts complaining of a stomach ach, vomits, then he is fine. He does have GERD and is on 40mg of nexium. He recently started enzymes. He does snack during the day without taking his enzymes so I am wondering if that is the cause? Any imput?

I'm not sure about the cf factor but the vomiting does sound like it is from acid or another problem in the stomic/esophogus. The fact that he has pain right befor makes it sound more like acid to me. I know that in people with cerebral palsy they often do surgery to correct the problem because they cannot keep food down. They are constantly throwing it up.

I would talk to the doc about changing or adding something to the nexium and see if that helps. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing and if it helps or not. My son is on previcid and zantac and still complains of his belly hurting everyday but he doesnt throw up.
