I'm at work and I had to rant for a second...

I've been on IV for like 8 weeks with a few days in between (home treatments). I've had my midline out for about a week or 2 so far and I feel congestion again so of course I'm freaking out again. I don't want to relapse AGAIN. However...not the reason for my rant....

omg how much do i HATE hearing the phrase "that cough doesn't sound good!" from total strangers, people who barely know you, etc. Thank you Captain Obvious!! I'm so glad someone else pointed my cough out to me, because otherwise how would I EVER know how bad it is?? lol ::shakes head::

ugh...it's been a long semester lol

thanks for listening guys!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

HA HA HA I had to laugh because on our Family Christmas I chewed someone out for what I thought was obvious stupidity. My Mom has a roommate & the roommates BIL who I have known all my life came up behind me & said.....you are awful skinny, you need to get some weight on. REALLY? You mean my pants are not suppose to barely stay up by hip bones & my boobs should be bigger so I dont look like a boy from the side?

I didnt say that, but I did say I am well aware of it & unless he has something constructive to say, he better drop the subject. Now you have to picture it....he is 1000000% redneck with the bushy hair & beard, flannel shirt, work boots etc. He looks at me totally serious & says, have you thought about drinking milk. Milk does the body good.

I started laughing hysterically. I said yes its already in my diet with everything else that the doctor & nutritionist & I agree on. The professionals are working on it, but it takes awhile.

I also said its a touchy subject for me so its in his best interest to drop it now. He realized how upset I was & became speechless. The man has NEVER been speechless in his life. I swear he came out of his Mother with an opinion coming out of his mouth LOL!

SO rant away honey.....but really, you should get that coughed checked out ROFLMAO! Sorry....now I am just messing with ya!

Yes, those are my favorites. I think it is people's awkward way of caring. My grandmother use to always comment on my weight and I know she loved and worried about me. I come from a very German background and to her, big is healthy. She is gone now and was not able to see me at my all time "weight high"<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

Another favorite of mine is "how are you feeling'? I don't know why I hate that. I guess it makes me think that that is all that person sees me as. Someone who is constantly feeling crappy or on the verge of disaster. Like they look at you and go "wooooo" I wonder if she is gonna make it through this winter. I know that is reading into things a bit, but people can be very insensitive. Like referring to us as "cystics". I don't call my downs syndrome clients "little downies" or my cerebral palsey kids "little palseys". A little PC here.

Oh, and Merry Christmas all you "little cystics" YOU!

I know it get's tiring hearing that, but I'm 47 and have coughed my whole life, so imagine how many times I'VE heard it. I look at it differently, tho. If I went around coughing all of the time and no one seemed to notice effects of my "ill health" I would feel it's a cold world, uncaring people around me. I take it as people trying to show caring in the only way they can to someone they don't really know.

If someone around me sneezes, even if it's someone I don't know, I say "God Bless you." It's kind of the same thing to me, common courtesy and caring. Now if that person sneezes about 40x a day and hears that "God Bless you" about 5x/day, they'd probably get annoyed with hearing that, too!

I do hope you aren't relapsing and will recover fully so that you are feeling active and reasonably "normal" for a while!
