Was Anyone Else Diagnosed Years After Birth?

Hi Katie....Sorry to hear that the sweat test hurt you...it is very unusual for that to happen! Well....I can say that if you were just diagnosed at age 9...your overall health isnt severe....thats good. I was diagnosed at just a few weeks old...so I've known all my life what was wrong with me. I know though...there are many who are diagnosed later......by the way...I am 30 and doing well! As long as you do what your doc says...take your meds.....eat right...and exercise for your lungs....you'll do great! I'm sure at age 12....you are pretty active, right?Well...take care!Dea

Hi Katie,My daughter was not diagnosed until age 6 years old. Even though her first cousin has C.F. We were furious with the Doctors - we were told she had bronchitis, asthma etc. Rochelle is almost 14 now - she's 5'7" tall and weighs around 128 lbs. and is doing great. She takes her enzymes, vitamins daily along with the regimen of mask/pari pep. For exercising she skips - terrific for getting her to cough. Chest physio is done twice daily (mostly) but she hates it and rebels now and then. Overall she is quite compliant. Keep up with all your daily therapies etc. We live in Canada and don't have the vest. Interested to hear your daily routine. All the best, Colette.
