This is a frustrating topic for me...Ellie is only in the 5% for weight-to-length. The doctor and dietician seem stumped that she doesn't weight more given how much we are feeding her. The dietician said the CF foundation would qualify her as being in "nutritional failure" yet when I asked about a g-tube, she didn't really give me a time frame of when we should place one. Just some vague "when they aren't gaining for 1 to 3 months". I'm hoping solids will help her in her weight gain, but I'm wondering if her low w-to-l ratio will affect her lung function later in life (i.e., damage caused now regardless of future BMI)...
