What are normal numbers

Can any one tell me what is considered a normal fecal elastase number and at what number are enzymes required? I have read alot of conflicting info. Thanks.

I only know what the GI told us, I have done no research on this.

Our GI said that normal people have numbers in the 500's. That anything under 200 is considered pancreatic insufficient -- thus needing enzymes. MANY CFers hover closer to the 100 mark, though.

My dd is on enzymes, but her numbers were just over 200. I think in the 240's.
