what are the symptoms?

Hey,

Oily, loose stools, diarhea, excessive gas and bloating, frequent coughs, colds. Frequent diagnosis' of pneumonia, brochitis, ect. Allergy like symptoms. And you don't have to have all these. Some have just the lung ones, while others have just the GI ones.
The skin can taste pretty salty, but that can differ in people. In the summertime, if I've been outside, you can see a layer of salt crystals on my arm. It's as salty as a potato chip.
If you suspect Anything, just ask your pediatrician to find someone who will do a sweat test, or genetic testing. It's the only way you can confirm it.
Hope this helped. Best to you,

HI,

No, I don't know that for sure. I doubt it though. Definately tell the doc about it. And maybe try to go for the Genetic testing if possible.

I dont think I sweat like I use to. In the summer the salt crystals are more apparent. I can actually feel them on my skin & god forbid I should rub my eyes.......OUCH! Hubby says I dont taste excessively salty (dont ask how he knows) so I guess every person is different tho the amount of salt according to a test vs taste can be different!

I do not have the salt crystal thing happen, for the most part, even in the summer. Although I think I was salty when I was little.

When I was young I was diagnosed at age 2 because I presented with lots of colds, had pneumonia, etc. I was in the 90th percentile for weight though, so they didn't necessarily suspect CF. That is why it differs with everyone.
