What do you like to do in the hospital(besides wishing you were out)? Since almost ALL of us go, we might as well help each other out.

Well I kept busy watching football on the weekends and playing a gameboy during the week days. A lot of people have laptops too so they can surf the web, play games and watch dvd's. Those are the only things I can think of.

For kids and young people, the hospital usually has a lot of things to do, but my advice is to bring anything that you need to get done, like sewing matiriels, assigned books, or anything else.
Note: Don't bring to much to do, because the hospital usually has all kinds of stuff going on.

Just a message about MRSA. It is a bug that it very hard to kill with antibiotics. It is easily transfer from person to person and if it gets into a wound it makes it very difficult for that wound to heal. It is not just cancer patients that it can effect, but anybody who may have a wound. The reason that a patient with MRSA is put in isolation, is so the nurses and doctors don't pick up the bug and then pass it onto another patient. It is also known as the hospital super bug.

Hello! My son is in the hospital about 4 times a year and we decorate his room with cool stuff. In november it was close to deer season so we bought some camo material and hung it over the windows of the door. the nurses hated it but we liked it we could see out but they couldn't see in. we have all kinds of themes. I try not to spend more than $5 on each theme. Usually get stuff from a $1 shop or walmart. We also try to find something for him to put together(models).
take care

I don't know how all hospitals are, but the one I go to has this new policy. The CF patients all have their own room, and are not allowed out unless they are going for "physical therapy" (exercise), x-rays, pfts, etc. Otherwise, you're stuck lol.

BUT, you can go out on 6 hour passes as many days as you want. Anytime I've been in there, I took a pass on the weekends, cuz tv sucks on the weekend, and plus lots of family and friends are off from work/school, so it's easier to see people and just get out!! I mainly just watched tv and movies...and I had either my boyfriend or my mom or someone come visit me at least every other day, so I always had company for a while too. It's not too bad, but it does get boring. You can always catch up on sleep!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> If you like to read, which I hate doing, I guess you could read books lol. My hospital also has a playstation in every room now too, and eventually they might have computers...I think.

Danielle,

Funny story when I was a kid, "meeting people" in the hosipital. I was in for the norm when I met a certain young lady, I was 15 or 16, she might have been 18. Anyway, she told me she was in there for diabetes... so we would talk and hang out, blah, blah, blah. Until a nurse who I became very good friends with told me she really was there to get venereal warts removed! yep, nasty!
Funny part is now with all the HIPAA stuff the girl could actually litigate the hospital and get rich!

You never know!

I've been in the hospital 4 times. you can always have you parents/guardian bring you something like a magazine or a portable cd player or something else if you get bored.

I only have only gone to the hospital once(thanks be to Jesus), but it was NOT COOL!!!!! I'm the one who started this topic, but I didn't have an account then. Hopefully I'll be able to make the next one better. And that's a good idea, to decorate. Thanks!
In Christ,
