When do you do your pulmozyme treatments?

We are just about to start Pulmozyme and I was told to do it at the same time every day.

When do you all do it and is it hard to stay on such a regimented schedule?

We do the pulmozyme last before bed.

We do cpt with albuterol and atrovent at 6 a.m., 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
If DS is on tobi that month, we do that after the cpt at 6 and 5:30
Then pulmozyme is done once a day after the 10 p.m. nebs and CPT.

It's not that hard to say on such a schedule right now because DS isn't in any activities after school -- pretty much it's before breakfast, before supper and before bedtime. Because we try to stay on schedule as closely as possible, it's become a routine and we KNOW and our son knows what to expect. If we have to be some place early in the evening, we do his middle treatment a little earlier. Sometimes if we're travelling, we do CPT and do the tobi in the car. I take mine with my am treatment which is about 8:30 each day. I found that taking it at night makes my sleeping rough since I cough more. In the hospital they had me taking it at night & I requested it be changed to the am. Not sure what the "recommendations" are, but this is my experience.

I take my pulmozyme treatment around 10pm before I take the Hypertonic Saline. I have always taken it in the evening as was recommended by my doctor.

My daugher (17 years old) does it sometime late in the evening, usually just before bed. She also does the vest then too, sometimes at the same time, sometimes not.

If she isn't feeling well she will do both things in the morning and at night.

I my Pulmozyme 2x a day (studies in the package insert show that patients with FEV1's over 70% or around there benefit from BID dosing or those over 21 years of age).

1. Albuterol/Intal
2. Pulmozyme
3. Hypertonic Salene
4. The Vest

In the morning, and at night.

We do Sarah's Pulmozyme right before she goes to bed, after albuterol and CPT. We used to follow a routine of albuterol, pulmozyme, wait 30 min to 1 hour, and then CPT. At our last clinic appointment they suggested doing it at bed time. The RT said it works better the longer that it can stay in the lungs.

So, I guess I have a question about the timing of it also. I see a couple of you that do the hypertonic saline (which we hope to start soon) after the pulmozyme. Do you wait at all after to pulmozyme to do the HS, or do you just do them one right after the other? What is the reason for doing it in this order?

Thanks

I do my Pulmo in the morning and have always done it that way. I also find it difficult to sleep when I do it at night. I have another question, is everyone talking about the inhaler of albuterol or the nebulizer?
