<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0">Does anyone ever hear people say "Are you sure he has Cystic Fibrosis he looks healthy to me?" There is this lady in our little town we live in and she works at the local Walmart and there for the longest time she would ask me that every time i seen her. So finally I started avoiding her. Or trying to go in there when i thought she wouldnt be. Why would I want my child to have something like that. I would love for him to be disease free if i could. I heard that every time and then she would go into the story about her neice and nephew had it and all the stuff they had to do back in the day. (She is probably 65 or older) I finally one day said to her when she asked me that again. " Well you know times have changed and a lot of research has been done and there are a lot of new treatments now a days" and then walked off.
Whenever he signs up for sports and stuff people dont understand what CF is and when they find out it is not what they thought it was. I had a lady at a soccer game overhear me talking about Austin and she said he walks great. He doesn't need a walker or anything. I said he has Cystic Fibrosis not cerebral palsy. When she heard CF she thought i said CP. She was really embarrassed
