Why do so many people post/reply as anonymous?

Probably because I'm lazy and don't take the time to log in. And I can't ever remember any of my passwords so I ususally forget!
Yeah, I'm a loser. But I'll at least give my name

Before my daughter got her own user name I had shortcuts created that brought me to the site with my username/passwords already there so I never had to log in. Now I need to, but its not a big deal since I cant chat without being logged in so I dont see the chat option I know I forgot to log in.

I usually set mine to auto log in. We had some computer troubles last month and had to do a system recovery. It lost all of my auto log in stuff and forgot about it till the other day. Hopefully that won't happen again for a lonf time. Or if I am not at home I forget to login.

I dont know why this is a big deal- I too forget passwords, get in a hurry etc but unless someone is trying to write something ugly or start a problem whats the deal? I also always sign my name - if I remember lol. Susan

Some people just forget, but they at least login and say it was them or they leave a name at the end. In controversial topics, they don't leave a name because they usually say something totally uncalled for. Basically they're chicken and don't want their name associated with their post because they know they're going to get it from everyone else. I love cowards, don't you? That's why I don't take anything they have to say seriously. If they're that opinionated about something, they should leave a name and at least stand up for their belief. If not, then their opinion means nothing and is easily ignored. That's how I feel, anyway.

As to why they say stupid crap in the first place, I couldn't begin to tell you. That one's got me stumped, too...

We care because of the trouble makers who dont sign in, but also dont put their name on the post. I do thank those that dont sign in yet put their name to the post. To me it gives for validity to the post. That is just my opinion tho!

OMG u guys r SOOOOO stewpid! I Pwned u!!! ur so dum, i kan do whatevah i want b/c i'm anonyoumoousous!!!!!

haha, I'm a wierdo. But seriously, people get annoyed because anonymous people tend to rabble rouse. I normally don't care if someone posts anonymously, but when it's just to be a jerk, or due to cowardice, I do.

I think it's not the non-members signed on as anon who are causing the problems - sometimes it's members who want to continue on with a thread to stir up trouble. Whoops, just noticed I came back from lunch and am no longer signed up. Liza

If people post under anonymous, but leave a name, it's as good to me as if they were signed in. I just don't like when people write stuff and leave no name, no nickname, no nothing.

I'm under order from work not to sign in to anything (including amazon and such) when using my work account.
actually, I shouldn't even be posting on that account.
I think there are others in the same situation because they post anon but leave a name at the end of the post.

Personally, when I first got here I didn't get a user name, I wanted to get a feel for the site. See if it was for me and if I could find some help from it. Nevertheless, I ALWAYS signed my name (julie, wife to Mark 24 w/CF) under the postings.

Once I joined, I would occasionally change computers or post from work and not realize I wasn't logged in. But if I caught it, I did one of those "that was me-woops" posts.

I think it really is relevant that people care and want to know why. It has become a rampant problem of anonymous posting and not leaving a name or anything. It's not like if you get a user name we can find out who you are, your DOB, your SSN, your bank account, your address... And I can't speak for others, but it's the rude anon. postings that really get under my skin. Not the ones where someone who's anon. asks a question, but where someone who is anon. gets all snotty and hoity toity. I mean, if you are going to get that way, DIGNIFY your feelings and posting with a name.

If you don't care about the question, that's fine, you are entitled to your opinion. But clearly the person who posted the question does care and/or is curious, so if you can't answer their question at all in your post, you ought to save the rest of us the time of sifting through your crap so we can read the other responses where people do care enough to answer the question.

It's nice if people sign in because then you can do searches by username if you remember so and so said something about whatever it might be and want to look back.

Okay I don't want the world to tilt of it's axis but i agree with Julie.
Anons asking questions or making usefull comments - no problem. But if you want to say something snide...put your name on it. Make a personal attack - put your name on it.
The other recommnedation I would make to anon posters that are not being trouble makers - Even if you don't want to type your name or code name, it would help us to know what perspective you are speaking form if you would put _ Spouse of Cfer of parent of CFer, CFer, friend of CFer, pet cat of CFer....you know...just so we know where you are coming from.
And when I post anon i put my loggin id, i'm not on my computer and can't loggin
