Happy New Year! We are launching a new class in Feb and hope you can join us. There are 2 "seats" left (it's a teleclass so your "seat" is in your own home). Here's the info:

Cystic Fibrosis Research, Inc. is proud to announce

An interactive Teleclass for Parents of Children with Cystic Fibrosis:

Winning with CF: Tools, Tips and Tactics for Raising Healthier Kidstm

Offered by: Lisa Greene and Foster Cline, MD*
Parenting Children with Health Issues

This Teleclass is convenient for parents because it is by telephone - saving you time involved in transportation and the costs of a classroom setting - and it is extremely affordable.

In just 5 sessions, you'll discover how to:
. Motivate kids with CF to comply with medical requirements without nagging, lecturing, bribing or yelling
. Put an end to whining, arguing, and complaining
. Avoid power struggles and other parenting traps
. Answer difficult questions about medical issues without causing fear
. Empower your child to make wise self-care decisions- even when you're not around
. Increase the odds that your child will lead a healthy, happy life

Parents of Children with Cystic Fibrosis:
Start the New Year on a positive note.

The low enrollment fee of $39 covers the cost of materials and 5 weekly class sessions (each 1 ½ hours) of telephone instruction and interaction.**

Mondays: February 2 - March 2, 2009 5:30 - 7:00 PM, Pacific Time

The group size is limited to 15 participants, so registration will be on a first come, first served basis. CF parents and guardians only, please. Full payment is due by January 12, 2009.

To register, contact Lisa Greene at: parenthealthiss@aol.com or 425-891-2842.

This material is based on the award-winning book "Parenting Children with Health Issues: Essential Tools, Tips and Tactics for Raising Kids with Chronic Illness, Medical Conditions and Special Healthcare Needs" by Foster Cline MD and Lisa Greene. For more information and free resources, visit: www.ParentingChildrenWithHealthIssues.com.

* The primary instructor is Lisa Greene, the mom of two kids with cystic fibrosis and a parent coach. Foster Cline M.D, a child psychiatrist and co-founder of Love and Logic, will make selected appearances.

** Please note: This is not a toll-free call so you will pay the normal long distance charges from your own carrier or cell phone service.

Yeah, it's a bummer to have to charge for it.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to give away the books for free (they cost $24.95 each) plus the CD and the shipping costs of about $5.00 per person.

I wish I could find a sponsor to pay for this but my challenge is that I am not a non-profit (even though I function like one).

If you know someone who could help, that would be greatly appreciated.

I hope you can join us. It will be a great class!
