Just wandering if this is cf related..Ive noticed for the last few months my periods have been changing dates by like a week...well this month it happens to fall twice in one month..Ive never had two periods in one month :-/
So i didnt know if like when your in the adulthood of cf if it starts to affect your menstrual stuff ?..I also noticed i havent really been ovulating last two months..i did some reading and i see stuff like thyroid problems wich i hope i wouldnt have but i think i will be callin and talkin to the doctor obviosly but just wanted an input from cfers <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
 
Any answers or replys would be awesome <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">!
Hopefully this wont get taken off like it did today which i dont understand why <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">?

I think with the new site update, he has been transferring the threads over... ennio (?) said that if it wasn't there at first wait and it will show up... I imagine thats what happened, I dont think they viewed this as obscene <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Not sure if this will help at all, but my period has changed as I've gotten older.  It has become shorter in length apart by about 7 days but mine used to be far apart (35 instead of 28).  The intensity of my cycle changed as well.  Spotting first 2-3 days, then extremely heavy (new tampon every hour even with supers) for 2 days, then done.  It used to be a moderate flow for 4 days then gradual tapering for next 2.

One I would talk to you gyn I had a hard time when I was younger with this and excessively heavy periods I ended up having the situation become unbearable and they had to place me on birth control to keep things under control, I was about 17-18 when I reached that point. I also started out having periods about 35 days apart, but when I would have my period it would last near 2 weeks.

Hormonal changes are normal - according to my endo hormonal changes can be expected roughly every 5 years. It is just a matter of how the changes will affect you.

Also to add thyroid issues - though no one wants to add something to their list of issues - really aren't that difficult to handle. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about a yr post transplant and take the smallest dose of synthroid they offer and have been perfectly fine since. According to the docs with the average patient they wouldn't have diagnosed hypothyroidism because my level was still considered normal just on the low side, but I was having symptoms so they started treating me and the symptoms went away.

Also to put it out there for the other poster - having to changed tampons every hour is not healthy - I have been there, so I know you just deal with it, but if you haven't talked to your doc about it I would maybe bring it up. I know when I mentioned it to my doc she told me we needed to do something about it. Just putting it out there.

Good luck to you and I hope you get it worked out, but it sounds like you already have somewhat of a plan as to how you are going to start figuring out what is wrong.

I have ALWAYS had irregular periods which I have mostly attributed to CF. Before I got married (and before I was sexually active, so NO chance of pregnancy!) I went 9 full months without a period. Whenever I get sick, normal menstruation is one of the first things to go. I don't think everyone has this problem, but I have talked to a few other female CFers with the same issue.... now that my husband and I are TTC I'm really hoping to be able to get this sorted out!

@Cindy, not having period when sick makes sense to me, because they say your body will typically allow it to get pregnant when its healthy enough to do it. So your body might shut down that process just to ensure you dont get pregnant...

Thats just something I've always heard... I have no scientific data to back it up though ahha
