"work" friends

I have always wondered if anyone else has come across this. I have many "friends" at work who ask about my daughter's condition and always seem to be very concerned when she gets sick....however, when I bring up the topic, or place (very obviously) the Great Strides walk brochures on my desk, they never ask how they can get involved....do any of you have the same situations? If so, how doyou get those "friends" to participate without sounding desperate or too pushy?

Same here. Bad thing is, you really can't get pushy with them. They'll either participate or not. Everyone always asks "how did the clinic visit go" or "how is she doing" but they never offer participation. Every Valentine's Day there's a concert benefiting the CF Foundation. I always bring it up and leave flyers on the breakroom table, but none of them ever go. Stay optimistic and maybe things will change. I hope so; that's why I keep at it.
