Working CF into your Day at Work

Some of you have a full time job. I was just curious as to what routines you follow in order to get your proper sleep, exercise, meals and therapy clearance.

Does anyone have any tips to help encourage others?

Hello,
I work part time so my situation is a little bit different. I am faithful about doing my nebs & vest before work so I don't go in till 10. That way I can clear my lungs a little (I'm always congested more in the a.m.). Other than that, I just make sure I do my nebs & vest again before bed and it's not too bad.
Oh, and I work with my husband (He owns his own company) so I can do pretty much whatever I need to. That is nice! I didn't like having someone else dictate when I had to be at work, especially if I woke up sick or something. This is so much better for my life!

Little, LOT different because we're the ones who work full-time -- 8-5. But here's our schedule.

I get up at 6 and give max CPT with his nebs. If he has Tobi, he usually snuggles in bed with his dad while I get ready for work. When I'm done, I get some carnation instant breakfast for Max, his meds and get him ready. Usually around 7:15 is when I start to wake him up. His preschool serves breakfast when he arrives.

I'm close enough to home, so at noon, I'll stop at the pharmacy. Come home and wash, boil nebs, organize meds for the next day.

Pick up Max a little after 5. Give him a snack on the ride home. give him his meds. He usually ends up having another snack while doing his vest. Do his vest for 20-30 minutes. Then Tobi if he's on it. Usually eat supper by 6:30. -- he has swimming lessons from 7:30-8 twice a week. Gymnastics for 50 minutes once a week.

Last meds, nebs and vest for the night start about 9:30. Finish up with pulmozyme.

I suppose the early morning treatment isn't do-able. Unless you can have a spouse/relative/significant other strap a vest on you while you're sleeping. That'd be a heck of a time saver <img src="">

I work from 7-4 so it is very hard. I get up at 5:15 to do my meds and shower. I leave the house by 6:45 and then get home, nap, do work at home and do my meds again at 8 before bed. I have been horrible at sterilizing nebs so I have to be better at that. It is just so hard to get all the sleep I need with this much work. And right now exercise doesn't exist.

So basically I am doing a bad job of getting it all in.

I hear you totally there sue. I go to school full time and work part time. There just aren't enough hours in the day! I usually wake up around 7am, sometimes I do my vest then, other times I just go to school and do it when I get home around 11am or so. I eat, take all my meds, MAYBE exercise before work (I'm trying my hardest to get in the habit of it), go to work, come home at 9pm, eat some dinner, do some homework, do all my treatments and vest, and hope that I'm in bed before 1am. Bleh. If sleep was optional, I'd totally be set, lol.

It can be tough with my schedule. Sometimes I work until 9:00 pm and then turn around and go to work at 6:00 am the next day. I just have to make time though. Admittedly I sometimes skip my morning treatments though. As far as sleep goes that's not an issue. I take amitryptoline for depression and insomnia. I know that I have about 30-45 minute after I take it before I am out like a light.

Here's a link to an article I had published about my day as a CFer. It reads as a play by play throughout my day with work and home life.
