Would you take your child to "Child Watch"

Im starting to workout at our local YMCA. I always took my 2 other non CF children to their free Child Watch while i exercised. So now im trying to decide if it would be safe for my CF child to go a couple times a week. I thought about asking them about cleaning toys and may bring her own toys from home. Because of Graysons history, i have been very protective of her. My dad would come to watch the kids, but sometimes its a last minute thing or just waiting around on someone to come to my house so i can leave. (no offense, mom, im greatful dad helps me out) It just would seem easier if i could schedule it on my own and go when i get a chance from getting my "home" stuff done. Plus. its walking distance from my home too. Im just afraid since everyone is HEALTHY right now and don't want to jinks it.

I totally understand you wanting to exersize and using the kidstop. We have a same type program at our local Y..I did not use it with Maggie. I guess you need to do what you are comfortable with; I just felt that at our Y the environment was not consistent..Different children of different ages going in and out. Lots of them with boogery noses or colds because their Moms needed some time to themselves. I was afraid also a baby might grab a sippy cup and they would exchange germs that way.. That being said; Maggie went to nursery school and just finished her first year in full day public kindergarten; but I feel the hygiene stuff is better controlled when they are not babies and Maggie 's body is bigger; lungs are bigger to fight off the colds and stuff. It's just my opinion though.

I tried taking my daughter to the gym child watch when she was little, about 18 mos old. I really wanted to be able to do it, but one day I went and the girl that worked there was sick as a dog. She said she couldn't call in sick, because they don't have a back up for her. I politely declined to put my kid in and never took her back.

Now that my daughter is older, heartier and has gained some weight, I definitely would use the child watch -- especially in the summer when there isn't as much sickess. But considering all you've been through with Grayson, I think there is good reason for you being so cautious.
