My kids spilt koolaide on my compressor. I have been on the phone since 10 this morning trying to find a stupid PARI compressor. I finally found WALGREENS, only to discover that through my insurance company they aren't authorized med equipment dealers -really?

So I have no idea what to do. My doctor will only approve for me to use the PARI. And I can't find one. Anyone know of a place online that ships and takes insurance???

Also I have clinic on tuesday - 5 days with NO medication (well I can do my vest and my cayston) but thats it. I have thought about just doing my meds through my eflow -but how would I dose it? I just don't want my clinic visit to be bad and I just know it will be.

WHAT DO I DO!

I know DH has taken apart the pari compressor before and used pressurized air to clean it off and also vacuumed it... Or take it to the Medical equipment provider and see if there's tech who can take apart your machine and clean it, see if they can get it going again...

Otherwise, is your cf clinic/hospital nearby, maybe they have one you could use... If it's just a matter of albuterol, you could use a different brand from the...

I've ordered compressors online before and paid 50-100, maybe there's some place that can overnight you one. I didn't go thru insurance for DS' last pari or his devilbiss pulmoaide.

There's another thread recently about Cayston and it includes advice on dosing for the Eflow. Really the only drugs you have do dose down are bronchodialators and abx's. I would use the eflow if I were you. Actually I do use the Eflow for everything!! Warning though, once you go eflow, you won't want to go back!

And in terms of getting another ProNeb quickly. I'd just order it off the web and pay out of pocket if I were you. Actually I just looked and I have a spare Pari ProNeb II that has never been opened. THere's a factory seal on the box to prove it. I could overnight it to you but even if I got it out tomorrow it wouldn't probably arrive until Tues with the holiday weekend. You can PM me if you are interested. $50 + shipping and it's yours.

If you got your compressor through your insurance, you have some sort of DME coverge. Most places online will take insurance, and ship, but if they won't take walgreens, the online sources are probably loss. You are on cayston? If you are getting it from foundtion care, ask them if they can help. Since it's thr 4th of july, you might be in trouble. What does your doctor care about the compressor? I could see the cup, but to fuss about a compressor seems silly. Who has the prescription for the nebulizer?
Might be better to buy it out of pocket, in our case, it ws cheaper than the "insurance discount price" and dealing with the prescriptions.
a neb set can be had for under 50.00...

Jessica,

Call Pari! When Zoe has an issue with her compressor, we call them, they immediately overnight her one free of charge!! All they have ever asked us to do is send them back the one that doesn't work....they even send you a pre-paid label...just put it in the box the new one comes in, slap the label on and drop it off at a ups store!
