Yummy Snacks?

Sometimes I draw a blank when I go grocery shopping and I'm trying to think of snacks.

<b>Please list your staple high calorie snacks</b>, so I can add to my regulars.


Here's what I typically get:
1. peanut butter and celery sticks
2. potatoe chips
3. nachos
4. donughts
5. cheese and crackers
6. ensure plus shakes
7. maple sugar beans

Note: Just so you know, I'm not looking for recipes, just snacks.

i do peanut butter on sugar-free wheat bread ( you would be shocked at how many brands of bread add sugar or high fructose corn syrup to their bread) with raisons on top.

snickers.

in n out.

basically i look at what fat people are eating, and i eat that. no one is ever fat by mistake. ever. you have to work at it. so see what they're eating and eat it.
 
Here's what I usually eat:

cheese, crackers, pepperoni
nuts (most kinds)
chips (any kind)
Yo Baby yogurt (full fat, made with whole milk)
fast food (a full meal to someone else is often a snack size to me <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">)
half sandwiches
fruit with this amazing fruit dip:

1 16 oz container sour cream
1 package instant vanilla pudding
1 can crushed pineapple with juice (mix all together and its ready)

trail mix (the big bag from costco with all the different nuts and m&ms)
chips and salsa
bagels and cream cheese
Warm break and bake chocolate chip cookes (take them out a min befor they are all done so they are soft) with vanilla ice cream while they are stil warm. We are addicated to them in my apt (me and the roomies eat it like 4 times a week)


Also i know you dont want recepies but this one is like way easy, Get the crescent rolls (pillsberry or whatever) and put cream cheese on them before rolling them up and then just bake them... they are super yummy.

MyNewfy, What are maple sugar beans? I love maple syrup, maple cream and maple candy .... is this something maple I didn't know about?

Hard Boiled Eggs (that's about as fattening as my snacks get sorry I can't be more of a help)

oh wait a few more..

Cheetos Natural Cheese Puffs
Celery and Peanut butter
rice krispie treats in a bowl (microwave a 1/3rd cup of mini marshmallows, remove and add a pad of butter, mix and add krispies and enjoy)

I know you said no recipes - hope that didn't count

I call them maple sugar beans, but they are just baked beans in a can that are marinated with maple syrup or brown sugar (I don't remember exactly). Then I add in more brown sugar when it's heating up. Yumm.

I also get brown sugar pop tarts, they have like 250 calories each.

These are some great new ideas!

Amy....yes copy what fat people eat. Good idea. I just can never keep up with them though.

I try to eat only healthy foods. I find that I gained more weight by eating healthy than I did when I ate chips and hamburgers. I gained 15 pounds in 4 months. I was down to 95 pounds and now I am at 110. I am still eating about 3000 calories a day to gain even more.

I mix fresh pinnapple, banana, strawberries, organic soy protein powder from Trader Joes, organic coconut milk from Trader Joes and a scoop of peanut butter. The smoothie has around 800 calories.

A cup of raw nuts has about 600 calories.
Organic granola bars
Organic wheat crackers, you could put hummus or another spread on for more calories.
I avoid all dairy products. They cause me to cough up more sputum. It is hard though because I used to love pizza and yogurt. Now I eat soy yogurt, tastes almost the same.

QUESTION -

How much do you guys spend a week keepin up on all these snacks? This is my 3rd week of focusing on having a bunch of snacks in the house and it's been about $100/week. Is this normal for you guys too? Maybe I'm not shopping smart. ?

snacking is expensive. try to get store brand type things...certain things have no different taste but some do

if you like peanut butter try it with graham crackers. i also like to mix peanut butter with a little honey and graham crackers. tasty.

nutter butters are really stacked with calories too

ritz bits cheese sandwhich crackers. i love those

ok, someone will say I have no right to post here since it's my daughter with cf and not me...but it suddenly became abundantly clear why I can't lose weight! You have all listed my favorite foods! Emily will have no trouble "watching what the fat people eat..."l LOL Actually, I've done well with adding lots of veggies and high fiber lately and I'm getting closer to my ideal weight every day. Only abot 10 more pounds to go. Thanks for the laugh at myself, though, guys. I will you all health (and my extra pounds!)

Tami- ha! I was thinking the same thing! I've gained about 10 pounds since I moved in with Mike. He looooves to eat and I love it just as much! I see him eating ice cream in the middle of the day and I'm like "ooh!! what a great idea! I'll have some too!" I've been getting much better, though, I've already lost a couple. We have a trade off where I remind him to have a snack and he reminds me not to. Hhahah!
Anyway, Mike's favorite snack is cereal and I bought him some cranberry granola to add to it (tons of calories in granola!!)

Potato chips and Cheese Whiz or onion dip
any kind of chocolate bar
fuzzy peaches (actually any kind of candy)
vegetable soup
any sort of pastery snack
apples and caramel
french fries with cheese dipping sauce (preferably from wendy's)
pudding (the instant mix is way beter with homo milk)
nachos with cheese melted over it and goat cheese
toast with strawberry jam and goat cheese
hmm I eat everything actually <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
