our dr wrote a script to start zinc today for our 7mo daughter. she didnt seem too confident about it but just said it "seems to help some" so im not confident in her since she isnt..

are you or your kids on zinc? did it help? any info out there for me? TIA

When our dd was diagnosed at 3 mo. old, they gave her a compounded zinc solution because she was deficient. She had a HORRIBLE peeling rash all over her body (one of the reasons why she was diagnosed). It definitely helped her in that situation.

When we had issues trying to get adeks drops -- constantly on back order -- we substituted regular baby vitamin drops until I could get an order from cf pharmacy. Anyhoo, the cf dietican indicated that poly-vi-sol was okay to use in the short term; however, ds really needed the adeks so he could get zinc, which the regular vitamins didn't have.

Is she on a regular cf vitamin such as aquadeks, source cf or vitamax. Those all have zinc in them...
