Zithro and ACNE????

Hey there everyone. So A few weeks ago I began Zithro 3 times a week and I have now begun to break out on my face. I was completely clear for about a year and a half and all of a sudden my face begins to break out??? What's the deal? I also started Hypertonic saline a few weeks after the Zithro, but I began to notice the breaking out before I even began Hypertonic saline. IT just keeps getting worse, any one have info for me or a story to share??? Please help!!! I hate zits... Is the Zithromax the cause of this outbreak? The Zithro and the HYpertonic saline are the only new additions to my life in the past year and a half. Any heplful advice is appreciated!!!

Yup, sorry to say it's most likely the zithro - in mine and my sisters experience anyway. It should calm down though ....eventually. In the meantime, I've tried many things to help short of stopping the medicine - if anyone has any suggestions....PLEASE let me know!!!

I used to get breakouts from zithro as well. My doctor prescribed me Tetracyclin for it. Its worked wonders for me, because my breakouts were getting really bad.

I thought I would respond just because sometimes you post a thread and wonder if anyone else benefited from it as well. Well, count me in sister! I usually have pretty decent skin and I try to do what I can to keep it happy but the last few weeks it has been out of control, so here I am running around like a goof drinking a TON of water and making sure I'm washing right and using every cream as directed. Thinking maybe I need to change skin care products, did they go bad, what's up? I'm a dork I didn't even think about the fact i had re-started zithro. So this stinks but at least i can quit pumping water through my poor over worked bladder! Thanks for asking this Chantel....mischief managed.

I read on a post from about 2 years ago, other people were having this problem and suggested that the zithro killed off all the good bacteria (and bad) which throws a person's system totally out of wack and causes the body to not be able to get rid of toxins normally and process sugars normally. (This is what the good bacteria are for.) So maybe I will go off zithro for a few weeks, then pump up the probiotics (acidophillus) and re start the Zithro. The acidophillus is the good bacteria you need to maintain balance in your body (which gets wipped out by any antibiotic). But I want to give my skin a break and replenish my good bacteria stores. Any suggestions or comments are welcome!

Must do something to the hormone levels. I think it has an effect on me aswell but not my skin lol. I'm only on 2 meds in total both tablets. I'm on and off zithro as sometimes i run out and dont get it for a couple of weeks, but when I'm on it this may sound funny to you but my labido is sky high. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0">

Bumblebee...did your skin ever calm down or go back to normal????? If it did, how long had you been on the Zithro before it did???

Bumblebee...did your skin ever calm down or go back to normal????? If it did, how long had you been on the Zithro before it did???
