Everytime I take Zyvox, I get hand, knuckle, ankle, or wrist aches that are consistant for about 2-3 months after a 2 week course of Zyvox.

Anyone else experience anything like this?

Thanks.

I am on Zyvox right now and I have not experienced anything like that. At least, not to my knowledge. I also have another medical problem that causes joint pain anyway...but it doesnt seem to get worse with Zyvox. The biggest problem I have had is headache, stomach problems, nausea, lowered appetite, on and off dizziness. You might want to call and talk to your doctor about this, specially since it last so long. you know, just to be on the safe side.

My daughter just finished two weeks of Zyvox today (she is so happy she is done-hates the taste of the liquid form, but has problems swallowing pills right now). She didn't have hardly any problems except for a few nausea complaints in the beginning, as well as a few headaches. Otherwise, she seemed to do really well with it.

I am on Zyvox at least once a year - both IV and oral. I do not recall ever having this side effect. To be totally honest - I don't recall ever having any side effects with Zyvox. For me it is a wonder drug lol - though I do prefer the oral med over the IV.

Are you taking it orally or IV when it causes you problems or does it happen with both forms? Also do you take any other new meds while you are taking the Zyvox - meaning is it possible that another drug is causing this side effect but you are simply associating it with the zyvox.

I agree with the others - if it is that bothersome I would talk to the doc and see if there is anything they can do for you.

I found out today from my CF doc (and the day before from a sports physician) that Cipro and their families of anti-biotic are the culprit for my joint issues.

Has anyone shared this experience?

Thanks.
