IUI etc...

I was just wondering all the options of becoming pregnant since my husband and i have been havin a hard time trying to become pregnant... I was reading about IUI.. since we have thick mucas i was wondering if maybe that would help out... ?!! hmmm... has anyone on here heard of a cf person doing that to become pregnant? My husband is going to iraq in less than a week and will be gone for 8 months so during that time i am going to be finding out all the above on trying to get my body ready to have a child! So any info on that would be greatly appreciated! I know that i will probably have to take fertility drugs like clomid cuz i dont ovulate regularly as my mom and sister had to take to get preggo! but maybe my problem is also my mucas... ok thanks alot...

I had an IUI with one of my children. I also took clomid - to increase the odds of the iui being successful, not because i don't ovulate. if you have any specific questions please feel free to ask or pm me!

We got pregnant the cycle before we were going to do IUI. My Dr. was going to try unmedicated IUI because I was ovulating on my own. IUI bypasses the thick cervical mucus so it is a good option for CF'ers.

thank you guys!!! i think that we will give it a try... maybe i can get my cycles regulated by the time he gets back so we dont have to use clomid!

We did IUI for our daughter <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> , but also had to use fertility shots, as I was cycling normally, but the eggs weren't maturing quite enough for pregnancy (I was in my early 30's <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> ).
