Well at least this month, January, I did.

Like I stated before, for about 9 months we tried with nothing. No charting, ovulation tests, cervical mucus check, Robitussin, or anything else. Then for about the past 3 months (November, December, January) I tried adding the Robitussin and ovulation tests. Yet many times, I was getting faint positives at around the time. So I wasn't sure what was really going on. This past month I added the charting with the Robitussin and tests like many of you have suggested. The temperature change was quite remarkable.

Friday my husband was off. It's his usual day off for the week. We did the baby dance because I knew it would be coming soon if at all. Well, that night I was soooo emotional. I just had tears streaming down my face. I was upset that we'd never conceive, and I started to feel like a defective typewriter. I was pretty bad.

The next day Jake had work and again I was in a very depressed mood. I was soooo disgusted that I took the Robitussin and basal temperature but avoided the ovulation test. I was no where near ready to see another negative.

Well, I was tired that afternoon and took a nap (a rare event). When I awoke, I had bad cramps. They lasted all the rest of the day and that night. When Jake got home at 6:00 pm, I told him. He actually said that maybe I was ovulating.

So with that idea, I took an ovulation test ready for another negative or faint positive. It was a strong positive - my first!!! Finally, the idea of being defective lifted. We did the baby dance that night, Saturday, and again on Sunday. I was still crampy all day Sunday too. As a matter of fact, Sunday night I felt such a sharp pain from my right ovary that I could hardly walk without a limp for 2 hours. My basal temps were always around 97.1 F. Sunday it jumped to 97.9 F. Today, Tuesday, it's now 98.0 F. I guess I'm not too cold-blooded anymore. LOL! Two times my basal temps were 96.5 F. So anyway, wish me luck.

I can honestly say that I have had the cramping mid-cycle before + the bloating. Only a few months, do I actually recall a sharp pain from either ovary. So I might not ovulate every month. I know for a fact that I do have a left ovarian cyst which may have something to do with it. I don't know.

It's kind of funny. I had soooooo much discomfort that the last thing I wanted was to do the baby dance. Trust me! I can say that there were a few things I did wrong the other two months (November & December). For example, I took the ovulation tests early in the morning like you would a pregnancy test. I didn't know that later in the day was best. I've come to realize that my cramping/sharp pain was always later or late in the day. Usually around 5:00 pm. So that could also explain the faint positives. Also, I didn't do basal until this January (which really helped). And I never remained laying for at least 10 minutes. I would just get right up. This time I laid for about 25-30 minutes after each time. How long should you wait to go to the bathroom? I waited at least an hour. Well, wish me luck! Sorry for being graphic. I'm just excited about it.

Just a little fertility info for you. To much baby dancing makes the swimmers weak.

I would stay laying down with pelvis in up on a pillow for 20 minutes.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! This is big news! I'm so happy for you. This is your first milestone Jenny. Obviously all your hard work is paying off. It will happen soon enough.

Yes, I also laid down on the bed with my hips propped up on pillows for 20 mins after TTC. My mother in law told me to do that. But the time we actually did conceive, b/c people were coming over, I only had a few minutes to lay down so, it happened anyway.

This is good news! I will keep you in my thoughts.

I also layed there a little; about 15 minutes was all I could stay still long enough for. I used a pillow under my hips some, but not always, not sure if I did on the "magic month".

It's great to finallly feel like you know what's going on, uhh? Good luck! We'll be waiting for an update.
