Emily has stopped eating/ Miralax questions

I have used Miralax and it is a mild stool softener. I dont remember it causing urgency issues or diarhea either but I am bigger than Emily so that might make a difference. If she isnt puking I take that as a very good sign, like the doctor says, I think the miralax should help loosen any hard stool build up that may be acting like a partial blockage. Has she has stomach surgeries ever before? That would create some scar tissue?

Otherwise, if you can, as in, if she keeps it down, try to keep her hydrated. I had a partial small obstruction in 2008 and dehydration played a huge part. Once I got to the hospital and got fluids (via ivs though), it took a day or two and I was able to "dissolve" (?) the blockage without surgery or ngtubes or anything.

DS had similar issues when he was a baby and we'd have to clean him out. In his case we used milk of mag because it wasn't all that often an occurence and it worked for us. He'd stop eating, would get crank, was uncomfortable.

How ARE her stools?

I got her to go some yesterday... she didn't want to- I think she was having stomachaches trying. But the poop itself was... ok, formed but not hard, on the greasy side but less than normal. This morning she went before school and it was, for lack of a better term- kind of dark greenish brownish colored floating slime. Not normal poop for her at all. Still not in the quantity that is typical for her daily trip to the bathroom.

Yuck. I really hope if she has more of that consistency she makes it to the bathroom in time today. I put out the darkest color pants she owns today to wear to school and fortunately she cooperated with wearing them.

Hopefully the miralax will do the trick. Remember many a time celebrating DS FINALLY going again, though imagine Emily is too much of a little lady and refined for that kind of obnoxious behavior. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Sounds like the doctor is keeping tabs on things.
