blake has pulmozyne once a day, been doing it for only about four months now. he has not had any side effects. he also did Tobi for three months from memory just after he turned three. he had cultured psuedomonas and he only had a scatchy throat a couple of times. but after the three months they did a bronch and found no psuedomonas and he hasn't shown it in the three and half years since so that was a great effect for us! i know sometimes when blake has to start a new med or something else happens we are not sure of or a bit worried about, and then you do it and suddenly it is just becomes another part of our normal cf life. i am sure that Alysa will be a star doing her TObi and Pulmozyne, we have tough kids and i am always amazed at how strong they are. i hope that you are all doing well

I have been on Pulmozyme and TOBI since I was pretty young, and I haven't noticed any significant side effects (though I'm not sure I'd know since I can't remember life without these drugs). The taste of the TOBI is terrible and it's very time-consuming, but it's totally worth it. I'm on the month-on/month-off schedule, and my months-on are much healtheir, even though I relish my months-off. Keeping paris clean is also an issue. The TOBI becomes gluey on my face and in the nebs. I just boil them or run hot water through them when they get clogged. I actually find the pulmozyme soothing because it has no real taste, it's short, and it moistens my lungs (if that makes sense). Good luck with the new treatments!
