    Career Path (HELP!!)

Hi Robin. I only have a couple thoughts, now that I'm 20 years out of high school. 1) My aptitude tests always suggested different things. Fact is, intelligent people w/ an affinity for language and science can succeed nearly anywhere doing anything. So...take those test results with a grain...

    High Morning Blood Sugars

Heh. You're testing better than I am! Everything in the world affects your blood sugars. A 3-day trend is....well, very little data. If this keeps up for a month, though, it's worth checking blood sugars throughout the night. You may be experiencing "dawn phenomenon". On the other hand...

Could we be on the road to CF?

Try not to self-diagnose based on things you read online that sound like what your daughter is going through. There are dozens of possible reasons for each of her problems and the likelihood that one disease is causing all of those is very slim. However, as others have stated, I'd certainly...

    Sick Relative Coming to Visit

May I add a voice of reason for the other side here? Lola is six months old and has CF. She is not immunodeficient. She has, I assume, normal or near-normal lung function. She is a growing baby who, if you expect her to weather life's milder storms on her own, is going to have to get a few colds...

    10K in New York, 2012

I'll be there. Like last year, will likely do my usual run/walk routine and post about 13 minutes/mile.

    Insurance Coverage and Divorce (TriCare)

TriCare is basically only an active-duty and retiree benefit. Your daughter will need to seek insurance elsewhere, though she might be able to continue with TriCare for a limited time, such as 90 days. She needs to call Tricare and speak to a benefits manager.

    4 Minute Mile....anyone?

Uh, you do realize a 4 minute mile is something even professionals and internationally-ranked college track athletes accomplish on a rare basis, and pretty much only if they're trained milers, right? If you're straining for a 6 minute mile right now, I think 4 is well out of range. I don't...
