24hr hand purifier? Anybody familiar with this Qore24 or Amosil-Q?

I just heard an ad on the radio yesterday advertising Qore24, a 24-hour hand purifier, creating a barrier that mechanically destroys pathogens on contact, including MRSA. I just ordered some. And did some googling to try to find something discrediting or verifying it's effectiveness, couldn't...

    home spirometry?

I've read of at least one CFer who does PFT's at home. I recently looked online and saw a few out there, ranging wildly in price and capabilities. I believe FVC and FEV1 are the most critical. Any recommendations? And will insurance usually cover it? Thanks Eric

    ENZYMES

I've switched a few times b/c docs were concerned with how many enzymes I was taking. Did Creon for a Long time, switched last year or so to Zenpep 20. ~12 per meal. I was taking 14-16 creon 20's.

Friend with CF - how do I shake off the sadness?

Entropy, I don't think he means it's affecting his life more than hers, he means he feels like it's taking an emotional toll on him and feels weird b/c she appears to handle it so well. Yes CF sucks, but so does a bunch of other stuff that people deal with. Studies have shown that people who...

Friend with CF - how do I shake off the sadness?

I have a friend or two who have been particularly moved and saddened that I have CF. I think it's more of a mental and emotional disposition. Yes we're used to it, and maybe you haven't experienced close one's being sick or dying, or don't handle it "well". I've had friends and girlfriends...

Do you go to work when on home IV treatment?

I've done both. My insurance now actually doesn't give me a home care nurse, I have to go to the hospital for labs b/c they say if I'm not home bound then I can drive to get labs. If I don't like my job and it doesn't affect my vacation time badly then I wouldn't work. But in the last decade I...

Anybody try a dairy-free, gluten-free, sugar free diet?

I've dabbled in different healthy diets, and do notice a correlation between feeling congested and more sluggish after certain meals. Though sometimes it's tough to narrow down what the culprit's were. Can you offer some more advice on recipe books or resources? I want to do it, but it seems...

    vegetarian

I'm a veggie dude who also eats fish sometimes, for the last 12 years. I actually gained weight at first, I was eating a lot of pasta. It's a little more difficult to keep weight on, but I felt better when I switched both physically and emotionally. It's nice to live along ones principals. You...

    65 Redroses documentary

I just watched it, I didn't know what it was about and thought it might be a corny inspirational movie, just heard about it on here. It was SO good, and really raw and well done. It's intense, I'm a 35 year old cynical man and I cried a bunch like a little girl. It's probably hard for a parent...

    Vest

I will admit, the vest makes airway clearance passive and easy, but there are other cheaper options. Not just exercise, but the flutter, acapella, chest PT, percussors, PEP, autogenic drainage, etc. They take a little more effort and discipline, I don't recall how the efficacy compares but I...

To all the bleeders out there...

sahein79, I tried the gotu kola a few months ago, reading up on it, it seemed to have similar traits to ginseng, an anticoagulant. I tried it and it didn't work for me. Might be different strokes for different folks. I did get the Tranexemic Acid (Lysteda) idea from your posts, it seemed to help...

To all the bleeders out there...

Hi, I can share some sentiments here as well, I've been bleeding off and on for 20 years. I've posted a bunch about my bleeding recommendations. Sounds like causes are a little different for most. Infection can play a role, but it doesn't always seem to be the most recent cause. Supposedly...

Coughing judgment at the gym (or any public space)

Gentry, thanks for sharing the story. I like the idea of carrying a short explanation on cards I can just hand out to anyone looking at me funny. I need to cough into my small towel more, I went yesterday and did so. A dude that was spotting me did ask if I was okay when I heard me coughing a...
