Wow! Lots of negativity going on here right now!

I also don't like being told in a condescending way how to view the disease... I sure agree with that point Kristen (and others who posted similar points.) We put HOURS a day into trying to keep Emily healthy, already see her losing ground, and she's only in 4th grade. It's incredibly frustrating.

Wow! Lots of negativity going on here right now!

This is an important point to make. We should not forget basic respect and decency for each other. Strong feelings and/or conflicting views are to be expected, esp. regarding certain topics, and that is OK. Thanks for clarifying negativity vs. disrespect- because there is clearly a difference...

    Need to vent

I didn't mean to make things worse with my last post. I was mostly making the point where- there is a place for each type of response; sometimes we need people to relate to how we are feeling, sometimes we need people to help cheer us up, other times it's practical advice we are after. It...

    Need to vent

People come to the CF boards because often it's the ONLY PLACE that anyone else understands what they go through (this applies to communities dedicated to any health condition.) Everywhere else in their life, they 'suck it up' and live their lives and do what they need to do, because it is what...

How long does it usually take to get test results?

For us- Ambry Amplified w/deletions and duplications- a good 5wks. Sputum culture- preliminary results- 2 days, final results- about a week. eta> stool sample, about 2 days. Fluffy/floating stool- sounds like malabsorption. Slimy- it's what we see here when Emily passes a lot of mucus, but other...

Is Nightwriter still on these forums?

Thanks Nightwriter. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Emily's actually had a really difficult year, and been incredibly frustrating because I feel at my wits' end with it all. We know inflammation/asthma is a big issue for her and are doing quite a bit for it...
