    In for a few days...

I checked in today at Columbia Pres for the next few days, then will go home on IVs. I guess this isn't such a bad deal - it is only my second hospitalization this year and the first was actually for appendicitis rather than CF. But this marks IV #6 since January 2008. Basically once every other...

    Newbie memeber....Hello

To be honest you sound like a CF dream parent (not kidding). I was pretty angry too, though certainly not at my parents. I just really like to push myself and have high goals, so I felt totally stifled by CF. I got the same thing from some of my docs - they were really concerned about Atlanta...

    FEV 1 question

Believe me, you're not being a pain. It's just that your clinic must use a unique measurement for this "FEV1%" number, and now I'm really curious as to what it is! Could you maybe ask your doc about it and report back?

    FEV 1 question

Your actual number should not be a percent but rather a hard amount (e.g., 3.0 liters). Think of it this way: the only way to get a percent is to have a baseline (denominator) to take the measurement, and the only baseline they can use is the average for a person your age, weight, and sex. In...

    Newbie memeber....Hello

Meg, I'm not a CF parent but I am an adult CFer who (unfortunately) has some insight into the whole noncompliance phase. I also live in the city and go to Columbia Pres for my CF care -- the adult clinic, not sure if your daughter is seen there or at the children's hospital. When I was 18 I...
