    The Vest

On an average day, I do my Vest twice a day, with four 5 minutes rounds, increasing the vibrating frequency each time from 13-16. When I get sick, I usually up that to at least 3 times a day, but using the same frequency and time settings.

    New Hospital = dissapointment

I just started to make the transition from the children's hospital to the adult one and am having to get used to a new way of doing things as well. I've always been fine with RTs just dropping my things off and letting me do them when I can. I tend to sleep in late and it's nicer to wake up...

    Feeling blue lately

When I start to feel down and blue, something that really helps me is just taking a notebook somewhere and writing. It helps me get my thoughts in order, even when I'm not actively trying to work on that. Simply writing a little story about nothing can make me think clearer and have a better...

How do you feel if you miss a treatment?

I definitely have a coughing fit right when I wake up. I sleep like a rock and don't move at all, so when I first wake up and everything "shifts," there's a lot of coughing going on. When I'm in the hospital, the docs are usually the ones waking me up, and I constantly get annoyed when I have to...

    Swimming in lakes

Growing up, I swam in anything I possibly could. Rivers, lakes, ponds...you name it, I swam in it. I do have Pseudomonas now, but there's no way for me to say that I didn't get it from all that swimming. The only thing I know for sure is that getting a piece of wood stuck under your toenail is...

    Dating with CF/I'm scared.

<div>To the original poster, I think it is possible to find someone that will stand by you through the disease. I think you're right about having to work on yourself first, because I think it's hard for others to love you if you don't feel confident in yourself. But I do strongly believe there...

    Plane, RV, automobile

I was always told to use one bag for each neb to avoid cross-contamination of meds. And you can reuse each bag 20 times, although I can usually go two weeks before I change them.

    Plane, RV, automobile

I used to go on 9 week vacations with my grandparents in their RV every summer. Something I found to really help in sterilizing my nebs were the microwavable bags used for breast pumps. Put a neb, 4oz of water in them, and put them in the microwave for 4 minutes and they're done. Like what...
