Baby son has a cough

Personally, not to sound rude to the above poster, we were told to NEVER use humidifiers as they can harbor all kinds of bacterias that will then be emitted into the air. This is what *we* were told and every center and patient has their own ways of doing things -- just not something i'd ever...

    Sweat Test Required?
I agree with Bill. My son could have been one of those missed cases had we dismissed the initial concern that he did in fact have 1 common CF causing mutation. We instead did not want to take chances and risk his health so we did the sweat test, which is really a VERY EASY test, and once his...

Pulmozyme &/or Hypertonic Saline at 6months

Our son started Pulmozyme when he was 2 months old. It was a preventative treatment and still is. He just turned 1 (today in fact) and has never been sick (other than teething issues). Our clinic will hold off on HTS until he is 2 IF they can. If not they'll start him sooner but would like to...

    Overwhelmed with emotion waitings

I believe it varies hospital to hospital (depending on if where you are going is an accredited CF Care Center) on when you get back the results. With my son we got the results the same day. Makes it nice so you don't have further waiting which is super hard. I'll be thinking and praying for...

    Sweat Test Extremely High

Like others have said, there is no correlation between high chloride levels and the severity of the disease. My sons came back at 111 on 11/15 and 112 on 11/17. So far we've had mainly GI issues. We're here if ya need us!

Sweat Test came back, what's most likely?

I agree with everyone here to get the Genetic Testing done. 30 is fairly borderline but genetic testing will give you a clearer answer. I caution you though -- genetic testing is expensive so i do hope that insurance will cover some of it. If it wasn't for insurance i would've sat down and cried...
