    Do you sweat much?

I actually don't sweat very much at all, compared to my friends. There is a condition known as hyperhydrosis which causes excessive sweating. Sometimes, people with this condition have botox injections in their armpits to control sweating.

    Pfts's and weight changes

Actually, it should go down. There are so many variables that contribute to %predicted that it's really a terrible reference to base any fears upon. Start asking for the raw numbers. Personally, I ask the RT to print out a copy of the report and I keep my own record. I really can't comment...

    RA Factor in lung disease??

There has been interest in the role of neutrophils in CF lungs for several years now. Research has indicated that bacterial infection may not be the sole cause of lung damage in CF patients. Admittedly, I have not followed the research closely, and only have a cursory knowledge of it. I do...

Anyone on Kalydeco seen changes in LFT's?

Well, first we need to see if it is a problem and if so, how bad. Certain cholesterol medications can cause liver problems, but not for everyone, which is why they monitor it. As Cindy mentioned, it's not so horrible that it was pulled from study. However, it bears watching and it may affect...

Anyone on Kalydeco seen changes in LFT's?

Yeah, I'm curious to see if anyone on it has had and elevated AST or ALT. It would have huge implications for the viability of the drug if patients had to eventually discontinue it due to elevated enzymes. Especially when you consider that many CF patients already have liver issues.

Anyone on Kalydeco seen changes in LFT's?

You are correct. There were indications that Kalydeco can potentially cause liver damage, which is why they recommend that AST and ALT be checked frequently, especially during the first year. My question is, has anyone seen their enzymes elevate? Also, what are the implications of having to...

I'm just curious if anyone has seen changes in their ALT or AST levels after being on the medication for awhile.
