    Alternative Medicine

Please be careful with aromatherapy. I did try it. Made my lungs much worse. Every CFer is an individual and may react differently to various treatments, but I would be extremely cautious. I would second the exercise as well as watching the diet carefully. Keep a log, find out the...

    Stomach problems

I had pretty severe stomach pain from as far back as I can remember till about age 20. I finally was on my own at grad school and figured out that if I didnt eat fat (only lean chicken, fish, turkey), cut way back on the starchy carbos and went heavy of the fruit and veggies, the pain was...

Warding off asthma attacks with a drink?

Erin, yup, sounds like me : ) Doesnt get much better than ice-cold diet coke at those moments! I also find that Tussin CF can help head stuff off, as well as a small dose of hydrcodone. (learned that one after so many bouts of broken ribs). Not that I would recommend a narcotic, but...

    My advice for teenagers

Yup, gotta second folks. Be compliant with your treatment protocol, unless you have a very valid reason not to be, then discuss that with your doc and figure out what will work for you. AND EXERCISE. AEROBIC. EVERY DAY. cant emphasize this enough.

Has anyone had success with enzymes helping with weight gain?

Yes! When I was a child, I had a real problem w/weight gain. Enzymes helped a lot. When I hitaround 20, didnt need them anymore, so I havent taken the new and improved version, but they were a life-saver as a child.

    Traveling by plane with medication?

I have never had any problem with international travel and carrying medications that need to be in a cooler as a carry-on, even with the newer restrictions. One of my daughters, when she was younger, had some dietary issues and I needed to always have some special foods with me that required...
