    Exercise/Heartrate Question

Kristen, I'd be curious to hear how your gym measures Vo2 max. Mine had me on a bike while the PT measured my blood pressure at intervals. He would tell me to pedal faster--I think based on HR. I didn't actually exhale into anything, which I guess is a more accurate way of doing it? Oh well...

    Exercise/Heartrate Question

Ditto Christian's "You go girl!" And, I am just outside NYC so keep me in the loop on this CF run :-) I kinda keel over at the 2.5 mile mark though. Can you go to a gym and meet with a personal trainer. I did it one time (free with the membership). He was a PH.D candidate in physical...

    Exposure?

I hope this isn't redundant to other conversations/threads, but here's what I think. You need a high resolution CT scan, which may identify bronchiectasis: areas damaged by infection/inflammation that collect mucus. Then you need CPT, either manual or a percussor or a Vest to help you shake...

Moms wCf that have given birth to

Hi again, I just saw the "Ignorance Abounds" thread, and I just wanted to clarify that I while my post above is a little grim, I am NOT discouraging people with CF or any lung disease from having children. I just agree with Caroline that 2+ yrs of spacing between the kids is a good idea, as...
