Hey, Megan! My name is Caralayah, and I'm 16. My little five year old brother might have CF, so my mom got on the forums. She saw your post and she told me about you, that we have a lot in common I also play guitar. When I was in 8th grade, I had to be homeschooled for a while because of bullying, and even though I went back to school I still get made fun of a lot, so I can really relate to you. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here

Hi Megan,
I love your picture, too. You're beautiful! :)

I have 2 kids with CF- my oldest is almost 12 and the other is 9. And what you are feeling is so normal- even for us moms who have kids with CF. Sadness, loneliness, like noone understands. It's all there....

I just want to mention that CFRI has a summer retreat for teens. Of course the cross infection is a big issue but that has to be weighed against the challenges of isolation. I am not sayign you should or shouldn't go- that is a decision you need to make with your parents and docs, I just wanted you to know about it. I go every year (to the conference) and it really helps me and of course I don't have the cross-infection issue to worry about.

Here's a link with info: <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.cfri.org/pdf/2010RetreatBrochure.pdf

Hang in there!

I have the same problems as you. I try my best to make every day good but sometimes it just doesn't happen. I feel like I'm alone and lost in this world, with no one to relate to. But sometimes being depressed is not the answer. Bloating is a major problem I have and people at school can even point it out. I don't get asked out much because guys think I'm a freak. I find myself wanting to run away but I know that will not help anything. Just think about the positives in life and forget about our disease for a little while. You might think it's stupid, but seeing a therapist works really well. I'm only fifteen so you can understand the problems I go through at school. I'm here if you ever need someone to talk to. My Skype name is Cojean62, facebook is Corene Jarrell, and email is cocoalovercj@gmail.com.
