Cant wait until Saturday the 20th May,its the start of the Haggis hunting season. The season only lasts 2 weaks, so me and 5 of my mates are having a week in the Outer Hebrides. Haggis are really difficult to catch as they are small, maybe the size of a big rat, and their habitat is in thick heather on hillsides, so they are difficult to spot let alone catch.
The good thing about this years season, is that ,because the USA banned the import of haggis 7 years ago, the numbers of wild haggis have risen dramatically, and as a result this year we can use bow and arrows to hunt with. Bow and arrows were outlawed 30 years ago so you had to catch them by stealth and hand nets, I've caught 6 haggis over a 15 year period, so I am so looking forward to this year.
What do you guys do on an annual basis? you know ,year in year out..
