hey kimberly,
my name is jenny, i'm also 21 in a serious relatioship, our six month anniversary is tomorrow <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">. i've had trouble in the past dealing with my cf and my relationships, it definitely causes many more issues than a normal relationship!!! but with this one i finally feel like we are both doing everything right. feel free to e-mail me if you ever have any questions and want some advice, or if you just want to chat! i don't have any friends with cf, but i think it would be really nice to have someone to talk to who goes through the same things! where are you located? i'm in NC. my e-mail is jenhum@email.unc.edu

Hi there,
im 22f with CF and related liver disease and diabetes. I am in serious relationship and am engaged. I am also waiting for a multi organ transplant(lungs, liver and pancrease). I think the most important thing is finding a mate who understands or is willing to understand your daily life is much more complicated and often unpredictable when it comes to illness. He must ackknowledge that you cannot just get up and "go". You have to plan how long you will be somewhere between treatments and possible take them with you. Also make sure he knows your limitations but still be willing to go out and spend time with him. If you have a basis for that than you can plan things together to keep a "social life". I know its hard but if he truly cares about you and so do your friends they will understand that you need time to plan and may need a "time out" to take some meds or whatever. If you have anymore questions please email me. I also have MSN messenger. You have been doing it your whole life so things should nt change. Just be smart about the decisions you make and your health should always come first!! I know it sounds naggy but its the truth. Good luck
