25 pounds in 5 months...

I would address this issue with your doctor.
One thought I had is; my daughter gains weight when her bacterial load is decreased. Meaning, when her body is not fighting infection and burning calories doing so, she gains weight. Usually happens after being treated with antibiotics for an infection; after she's off the antibitoics, the her weight increases. Her increase would be 3-5 pounds.
25 pounds is alot, though. Were you underweight? Could some of it be fluid retention? Talk to your doctor.

If I am pregnant, that would be news to me and my husband!

I am owing to call my PCP on Tuesday and get some bloom work. I see my CF Dr. In 2 weeks. Thanks for all the support!

Well, you weren't diagnosed until a year ago, maybe the meds are helping and you are at a healthier weight?

I changed enzymes a couple of years ago and end up less active due to a lovely infection. A combo of the increased digestion and sedentary lifestyle caused me to gain 25 lbs as well. After each of my tune ups I gain weight.... I gradually lose it but never lose all of it. I am having to get used to my new body shape.... I still don't like and and I had to buy all new clothes.

I look at it this way.... If I should get sick then I have extra padding.

Yep me too couldnt loose a pound if I tried....Im sick rite now on 2rd week of Ivs, Fev down 12% , low grade fever , I ve hardly been eating and still havent lost weight.....5 8" 146 lbs....I should be 137 ish...and its a battle not to gain more... im so embarrassed when I get weighted at clinic..

In my case its a hormonal thing with the menopause...lol

but I was hoping it was hypo thyroid ....a sluggish thyroid will cause weight gain...

Have your family dr. do your hormone levels and thyroid test. Sometimes I get a litttle swelling in feet so I wanted a diuretic....but my dr. said no if you can see bones in your feet

you dont need one.

I have not been doing as much walking this last year as usual.... .infection after infection...led me to depression and candy eating...and now I can t drop the weight....

You say nothing different in your lifestyle so I think its hormones......i knows few other women with large weight gain in early fortys (no CF) or mid forties and they start to pack it on....and 20 lbs in 4 mos ....is not uncommon when hormones are screwy....
