Do mild CFers use vest once or twice a day?

i'm thinking i want to try out a vest. i think i read on here somewhere that the doctor should have a sample vest for patients to try. my doctor has never even mentioned to me about getting a vest, not sure if thats a good or bad thing. i think i'm going to ask her about it next time i go.
maybe i should wait to try it after my baby is born.

Do mild CFers use vest once or twice a day?

I got my vest last December, about 2 months after my 2nd baby was born. My thoughts were that I rarely have time to do the cardiovascular exercise I need to do (and I am a firm believer that good quality cardiovascular exercise beats the vest anyday - though some may argue with me on that), so I figured I could find time to do the vest twice a day. I want to stay mild. I usually do do it twice a day, though if I miss a session here or there I don't think it is any big deal. I have the vest set up by the computer, so most the time I get on this site as I am doing it <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

As aside, I also just started TOBI last month also in an effort to stay mild and because I had a bad bad infection in June and sort of a CF wake-up call that while I have been "lucky" so far, time isn't on my side (what with being in the thirties now!) and I just don't have the time, patience or desire to have to go into the hospital for IVS at this stage of my life.

I found that WAY harder to be compliant on (which as you know is necessary so as not to quickly build resistance) and so I did do my vest at the same time as the TOBI (which I doubt you are "suppossed" to do) in order to make sure I got everything in for the day.

Finally, just an FYI - I baby proofed this room and quite often I just come in, set the baby on the floor, close the door and plug into the vest/meds. With my husband's work schedule I can't always count on him to help at those times and so I have had to make do - but it can be done!

long post - sorry

My clinic never suggests anything to me - I think it's because without doing much my PFTs have been stable over the last ten years or so - but it was after being/reading on this site that I brought up first the Vest, and then TOBI with them. I kind of like that I can "call the shots" over there, but it makes me wonder sometimes about how proactive they really are with my care when I have to ASK for things, kwim?
